Ballooning..

  • Nov. 18th, 2009 at 12:49 PM

This is me now.

Not how I look (of course), but feel.
Have been having this bloated stomach thingy for several days now.
I DON'T KNOW WHY~
Didn't see much to it till I couldn't even stand straight or eat right.

Seen the doc yesterday and forgot to ask for smaller pills....

Now I gotta go through the arduous process of banging and hammering till they become baby pills for the baby bird's consumption =/

Argh...please get well soon, rebellious body of mine!

Test your IQ (:

  • Nov. 11th, 2009 at 3:40 AM

Hey guys, saw this on my brother's blog and decided to test my IQ.
Wanna test yours too? :)

Free IQ Test
Free-IQTest.net - Free IQ Test

Here's the IQ Score Guide:

Intelligence IntervalCognitive Designation
40 - 54Severely challenged (Less than 1% of test takers)
55 - 69Challenged (2.3% of test takers)
70 - 84Below average
85 - 114Average (68% of test takers)
115 - 129Above average
130 - 144Gifted (2.3% of test takers)
145 - 159Genius (Less than 1% of test takers)
160 - 175Extraordinary genius

Yay, it's pleasing to know that I fall under 'Above Average!!!'
At least it was upscale from my secondary school days, after having paused examinations for eons!

But then again, our IQ is basically our "surface consolation" so what's important is still EQ, IMO =P

Haha just enjoy for the fun bit of brainwreck then!

Astro Boomz

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 12:14 PM

Hooray, the I-Scream Cone Party was a success! Thanks to Weiliang, Shihui, Elina, Lay Han, ZK and my brother Big Head who came to join us. You guys made the Party extra CONEy and exciting! =)

More to come! Pics as well but let's patiently wait as the Uploader's busy mugging for big As. All the best, Cookie Mon...and Jael too! Seriously can't wait for all the important LEVELS to end, before we can gather and party like there's no tomorrow! =P

That aside, I'm really proud of myself once again for coming out of my movie ignoramus state. Woohoo! A friend asked me what movie I last watched, and I shocked myself cos I couldn't remember. *Gasps!* And it became a confirmation when my colleagues were talking about watching something Keeper, bla bla 1-2 ... and I'm like WHAT'S THAT?!?!?!

So having watched ASTRO BOY during the weekend, I'm now a proud owner of......................

A MOVIE TICKET! HAHAHA

I was initially contemplating between Astro and This Is It, as I saw from Tweets and FB Status-es that the MJ show's not bad! However, my animation mood made a decision for me STILL. Ooops! Nonetheless, I'd wanted to find out why Sun loved and still loves this legendary boy so much!

Now I know why. Just for the fact that he's simply cute and heroic! The movie is not just about a typical hero saving the world which most would anticipate. I lurrrrrrvvvvvveeeeee it cos' it also nearly touched me to tears as well.

Thumbs up! 4 Poppies!

ASTRO BOY is definitely for animation and Astro Boy lovers, needless to say!
Indeed a family show which is light-hearted and will touch your heart :)

Here are some Astro shots I hope will whet your Astro appetite...

Boy oh boy, just go catch Astro Boy! You'll love it too =)

A Frenchstery Day

  • Oct. 27th, 2009 at 4:55 PM

Last evening, my Frenchsters and I met up for French Dinner at this classy restaurant,
Bistro Petit Salut.
In case you haven't heard me mention this term Frenchster, it came about when a group of us from Ngee Ann Poly signed up for a French Immersion Tour. We happened to make it through the interview and went to France in 2005. Yes Frenchsters for you! =) Lovin' it (them) till this day!

Alyssa aka Shameless had to be with her mum as the latter was leaving for Rome. So it was down to us 3 once again, Monica aka Monster and Jazmin aka Kuku! Haha I'm not being the bad one here as I've got a nick too, Sotong -.-'' Urghhh

Bistro Petit Salut is located at Jalan Merah Saga, right opposite Singapore's coolest chillout place (IMO), Holland V!  Though gothere.sg helped me quite a bit, the last portion only said 'Walk 2mins.' Hmm that didn't help. Nonetheless I made it there rather fast and couldn't wait to dig in!

One thing I must say. I was pleasantly surprised to know of this Jalan Merah Saga street last night. It's like a Holland V and more central version of the eat-outs at Marine Parade. Only more tranquil and a tat more atas! (:

Beforehand, through the webbie, we'd been "dollarly-prepared" for our exorbitant meal >>> $38++!!!
Hmmm~ This place, however, was the lowest priced of all options we explored.
So yea, Bistro Petit Salut it was! =/

Words aside, pics you'd like! I'm sure ('v')

Entree:

Jaz's: Escargots! They're basically what we call snails.
Seems disgusting to think of but real mmmm....slurpy and deee-licious!

Mon's: Beef in it's rather medium state. Mama Mia~!

Mine: What else would I order, Salmon of course!!!
It's a hairy one but didn't know what that was.
Some kinda thin cracker/vegetable =?

Main:

Jaz's: Beef again....medium rare!
I tried a mouthful and took like 15 over mins to swallow.
Hmm chewy things are not my thing after all! =/

Mine and Mon's: Lobster Pasta! One word, HEAVENLY!

Dessert:

We had Creme Brulee, Meringue and Strawberries
infused with Raspberry Sorbet~~~~~~

And then, the camwhoring spirit took over! Oh man!

Awesome food..
Awesome mood..
C'est la vie~!

Post HK withdrawal syndrome! :(

  • Oct. 20th, 2009 at 4:25 PM

Up till this day, which is 3 days after our return from Hong Kong, I'm still very much in Hong Kong mode. The sedap food, happening 24/7 lit-up streets, enthu atmosphere, melodious Canto, crazy shopping - miss them all!

As of now, I still feel Jet (star) lagged! =X

To read more about Day 1 of the trip, feel free to explore Ting's blog http://braveheart-ting.blogspot.com/ or my Facebook page as the photos are tagged there. I'm now trying hard to get back to work mode so pardon the lack of detail. Been telling myself one thing these 3 days, "BACK TO LIFE, BACK TO REALITY!"

Please pray for me. Fell sick due to the drastic weather change.
Mon - normal
Tue - HOT!
Wed - slight drizzle
Thu - slight drizzle
Fri - Hot

Guess this very well explains why it was hard to adapt, coupled with crazzzzzzy shopping and eating every day!

However, I'm really proud to exclaim that I've broken my 4-year no fly record! Indeed my last was a school immersion trip to France so Hong Kong this time was really a good time-off for me and the girls!

Some of my favourite pictures of the trip, will start with Day 2 first (courtesy of Shing's Canon Ixus 90):

The you tiao in HK is definitely fresher and more crispy!

Same for the porridge, a world apart! =X A must try!

See the eeyore face? =P Hehe

The "HUGEST" cup noodle I've seen!!

Aren't the Ocean Park tickets so cute you wanna collect them all?

Cam-whoring all trip long!

In the alligator cave

We felt a lil' panda so..

The panda was cosily posing for us, how cute!

Lele was so cheeky he/she/it kept messing up our hair and covering our eyes!

The :( expression fishes!

ZEBRA pose!

Scenic view of Ocean Park, awesome yea?

Nice shot of SEA SEAL snapped by Ting. Cicil!

Spot the zeeyore one in the 3rd carriage, 2nd row?

R.I.P

The cute lil' vampire I adore!

I couldn't bear to buy them, too cute but impractical =/

The pictures looked fine but we were totally burnt that day!
Thank God the peeling and redness ended on Friday!

To be continued...

Uber October!

  • Oct. 6th, 2009 at 11:48 AM
Do the bird thing
Just to start of the post right, my last entry did not come to pass! =(
Therefore no ice cream sensation whatsoever, many things did not happen as well, such as my crave for a Hard Rock Cafe Chillout...due to time constraint.

"I SCREAM....in discontentment~!"

You must be wondering why.
The typical Singaporean reason to a typical Singaporean behaviour actually. The queue outside Ion's Swensen's that day was KERAZEE! For a moment, I thought it was the queue at the Ticket Office as it was the supposed last day for EZ-link exchange. NO~! People who (obviously) knew about the Ice Cream Buffet (ICB) Promo had set their hearts out to have an ICB experience regardless of how long the queue was!

And I learned one thing that day...
Don't try to go for a FOOD outing/fellowship on the last day of promo if you're not prepared to wait more than an hour. HAHA an hour is a very conservative estimate, really.

Oh wells, we told ourselves that the location doesn't matter so much...it's the company!! YEAAA
Settled for second best in the end, which was Big O at Wheelock Place.
Love the chicken drumlets despite the 'etrange' service. Benefit of doubt to the young and therefore inexperienced waiter =/

Worth the try! (: I'll give it 7.5 stars!

Right now, I'm looking forward to our long-awaited HONG KONG GETAWAY!

Visualizing the Disney shows already! (:

We're flying in 6 days...and counting~~~

I totally can't wait to SHOP & EAT & SHOP & EAT!
Mai dong xi, chi dong xi!

However, having not travel like this in more than 3 years (apart from Bintan)....I'm sure to miss SG a lot!!!

I SCREAM!

  • Sep. 30th, 2009 at 3:32 PM

Highly likely in this period of recession, Swensen's has been offering many 1-for-1 promotions you've probably received a usual forwarded email or heard about it from anyone who wouldn't give such offers a miss!

I'm uber proud to announce that I will be a part of the wonderful treat, except that me and my poly friends are paying for our own treat...on the final day of promotion! What an awesome timing =X

I just have to tell you this secret.................

that is........

erm...........

that...........

I absolutely CAN'T WAIT for tonight's ICE CREAM BUFFET...
and of course to catch up with my Choo Clan as well!!!!!!

(:

Uber 'Koo' Happenings

  • Sep. 23rd, 2009 at 12:16 AM
Do the bird thing
Monday was an awesome day - Public Holiday, and "KFC" day for my family! Right, it doesn't stand for any finger-lickin' good chicken, but Koo Family Chillout Day!:)

My Mum texted me 2 days in advance to book me this PH, seemingly thinking that I'd be packed with activities as usual =P So all the more, I made extra sure I would show up, to celebrate her birthday 2 days in advance, together with them.

Our first stop: Ah Yat Tian Xia

I came full of expectancy, with an empty stomach! After waiting for a short 3 minutes as Daddy had already made a reservation, we were fast seated and deciding from the extensive food choice! Woohoo!

Looking at the menu with pictures of bird's nest, sharks fins and abalone was good enough to make me drool, not mentioning the disappointing half-hour wait which got many customers complaining and more so famished! Gosh I didn't know whether to take pity on their "teething" period as a newly opened branch or hurry them as the appetisers had not even come yet!

Well, looking on the brighter side, the quality of food was indeed what we call "got standard!"

Meal consisting Shark's Fins Soup, Abalone and Bird's Nest - all 3 in 1 - just for $29.80++!

The Braised Premium Sharks Fins Soup in Claypot Big Head couldn't wait to sink his teeth into!

My Braised Fresh Abalone with Mushroom (2nd dish)...
I was like "What, this is it???!!!!"
Daddy said it's top grade abalone, thus that's my (only) main dish. =/

The 2nd dish for 3 of them who ordered Baked Whole Abalone with Fried Rice.
I was so envious, though their abalone wasn't as top-grade as mine =P

Well I wouldn't complain, cos' Mum could not finish hers and gave me some in the end! (:

Our common 3rd dish: Superior Bird's Nest with Fresh Almond Cream
Sedap~! You gotta try it yourself!

Alrights, by now I was extreeeeemely FULL!

Daddy wasn't contented and needed more dessert now....
"Bernice will treat now okay???"

Next stop: Heaven's Loft

Happy 3 Family!

In the midst of enjoyment and chill, Big Head still had to stay
diligent for his PSLE =X Poor boy..

Mum: $7 for some coffee foam??!
Yup this is my Cold Coffee Espuma for $7!! =X

Wasn't exactly worth it but I'm glad I contributed to a wonderful "KFC" Day!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today, September 23 is my beloved Mummy's actual birthday!

The pictures will replace my laziness yea =P

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY! (:

I'm gonna CHAT with SUN!

  • Sep. 17th, 2009 at 11:13 AM

I am totally looking forward to tomorrow, where the brightest star is gonna shine!

My music inspiration and role model, Sun Ho - more affectionately known to us as...

.....will be hosting a LIVE video chat right on Facebook Sep 18th 11PM SG time! Yes you didn't see wrong! If you're an ardent fan of SUN, this is definitely a moment not to miss! Grab this chance to ask her any burning questions on her latest single and chat with her like an online friend, except that this time, she's not just any other friend but one whom all of us in Singapore have greatly missed!!!!

I feel indefinitely privileged to have heard SUN's latest single,
'Fancy Free'
on FM93.3 yesterday! It is a super SOLID dance tune, which evidently shows that the SUN has risen!

How cool it was to hear the DJ presenting the after-song preview with,
"I'm sure you thought that was some US celebrity...."

Seriously, I thought that sounded like a Madonna or Britney number!
(Wow! Even as I'm typing right now, 'Fancy Free's being aired on FM93.3 again!!!!)
Way to go SUN! I'm so Uber proud of her!

So Uber peeps, here are ways we can communicate with SUN:
http://www.facebook.com/sunhomusic
http://twitter.com/mynameissun

Her Youtube video will also be out tomorrow, look out for it!
('v')

RIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGG!

  • Sep. 14th, 2009 at 3:55 PM

Time ZOOMED, is ZOOMING and will still ZOOM.

Once again it's our yearly FIRE DRILL (FD) which most of us in Energie Business Partners don't exactly look forward to. Many thought of excuses to avoid standing under the scorching sun for an approximate 10 minutes, as was the usual procedure every year once the fire alarm ssounnNNDDDSSSSS! Sounds like school days eh..

In the end, 5 out of 7 energetic Energie peeps excluding yours truly decided to have lunch at the assigned FD timing. So much for 'you fu tong xiang, you nan tong dang' ...which kinda means going through thick and thin together. HAHAHA

In the midst of a phone conversation (of all times) with Pinks, the long-awaited alarm finally went off . And guess what? My other colleague who happens to be in the midst of nature's call, had to halt as well! Gosh. Out of the office, our stroll drastically changed into a rush when the fire warden "stared" at us, seemingly hinting that we should be more anxious about a FIRE drill!
We were like OH YA, WE'RE SUPPOSED TO RUSH HOR??!!!

The pathway we had to all gather at was indeed scorched by the noon sun...and I immediately had a MILO DINOSAUR crave! Slurp!

It was then we got to see the entire block of MND Complex Annexe B workers who were called off the building, now consisting countable companies and a Kinderland at the highest level. Definitely decreased by a good 50% due to the tripled rental fee, what I see as exorbitant! But still I can't imagine where else we would shift to as I've always cherished AMOY STREET'S CHEAP AND GOOD FOOD! Come join me if you're around the area (",)

So after some past-time blabber, I ZOOMED straight to my favourite drink stall for my MILO DINO!
Heavenly~~~~~

Now for the highlight of the day: BACK TO WORK! -.-''

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One thing fills my mind now:

We need a BREAKTHROUGH!!!

Frustration is the first step...

...with change as the only constant!

Food for the Soul

  • Sep. 10th, 2009 at 5:13 PM

Come to think of it, I've been feeling artistic and high society of late...or rather, wanting to.
Have always wanted to be more cultured in the arts and music. Too much of work and study is getting mundane and life-less! And since I'm taking a (forced) break from studying this semester, now's indeed the best time for me to catch up and feed my SOUL:
Go for a holiday (YES),
Go for a play or concert (now YES)!

My childhood has always been filled with memories of characters and meaningful stories, all courtesy of Walt Disney! Knowing that I loved them so, my parents brought me to every Disney On Ice that came on a Singapore tour, without fail. Of course, how can I forget Disneyland itself. The trip to the one in France was definitely an experience I will never forget. However, as a part of being a grown up now, the cutest Disney characters have started to fade into memories.

AWWWW~ I miss liking my favourite Winnie The Pooh! He (It) was meant to be my room wallpaper!

Actually I still like him a lot (o.O)

Oh wells. NOW's time for change. And the need to re-ignite my soul has come alive once again. Not with Disney but something more adult! =X My entire company of 7 colleagues, including my boss, has decided to go for the upcoming STOMP 09! Having missed JUMP due to our clash of schedules, I'm very much looking forward to this one that's materialising...

STOMP STOMP STOMP!
Finally ACTION over THOUGHT! =D

Wanna join me?

Tickets priced $40 to $120 only!

Yes, let's feed our soul!

What's with Acid?

  • Sep. 7th, 2009 at 4:27 PM

Have you once again heard of the pouring of ACID incident in Mongkok, a densely populated district in Hong Kong? What amazes me ain't the acid nor that it took place in Hong Kong. Rather, it sets me wondering: Is this a trend or something?

Hmm...

According to AsiaOne news I read this morning (you can read it here), it is the 4th time the weird event arises. And in all previous 3 cases the same pouring agent, acid, was used, what's more, at the same district - Mongkok! Ain't that just weird???

Well if I were just an avid AsiaOne reader wanting to keep myself updated on the news - All is fine =)
Apparently, I'm going to Hong Kong for a vacation with my friends this October! We've also booked Dragon Hostel which is located at the shoppers' very haven of the place, Mongkok!

I'm so looking forward to the TRIP, but God please shield us from the ACID! =P

At this moment I hope:
1) Moody (what I call my mum) will not read or hear of these reports.
2) Moody doesn't remember where in HK I'm gonna stay.
3) I can save more Moolah for HK!

Have you been to HK by the way? Any places of recommendation for crazy shopping and recreation?
On my list so far: Esprit Outlet, Ocean Park, Disneyland, The Peak (Madame Tussauds), Modern Toilet (the renowned toilet restaurant!), Macau (?).

Please add on to my list yea? =D

Monthly Die-lemma

  • Sep. 4th, 2009 at 3:07 PM

I have a current top-of-list prayer request now and that is for SPEEDY RECOVERY over my crazy alphabetical attacks. Stated in FB yesterday that "D (is) gone, C remains....praying for speedy recovery now!!!! J Rapha!"...in which D stands for Diarrhoea and C, Cramps. Have always had abdominal problems since secondary school days. This is really an area in which I need a BREAKTHROUGH!

It tends to get so bad on a monthly basis till the fact that I need to take at least a day of MC each month is at helm. From MC = Medical Certificate, it now means to me Monthly Cramps! =(
Each of these "fateful" days, I wake up to a battle between my flesh and spirit.

Flesh says, "You're in extreme pain. Take MC lah!"
Spirit says, " Just go to work. Force yourself, you can't afford to take MC so often!"

Haha who do I listen to man???? Work, MC, Work, MC?

However, I thank God indeed that this excruciating situation is taking a positive turn now. From monthly, it's now at least "fort-monthly," and I'm believing for not even once per month....at all!

I've faith that my Jehovah Rapha is at His perfecting process now!

For all the guys out there, you don't know how this feels but thank God you're MALE!
As for the fee-males, there's always a FEE to pay - most of the time, it's pain! =P
Let's try our best to conquer it!

P.S, I heard Chocolate with Almonds help, not sure how true though. Well at least it adds some fun to my porridge and mee sua diet now =D

POST-RDM

  • Aug. 25th, 2009 at 1:28 AM
Do the bird thing

One of the most eventful weekends had just passed. No we're not talking about happening zone games, neither are we about LNSDE (acronym I caught on 933FM today, Late Night Shopping & Dining Entertainment!), but it was once again our yearly commitment - to DONATE BLOOD! I can sense that you aren't very excited to read that huh...

Last (or last, last) year's pre-blood donation expedition was memorable. I sweated ALL OUT to achieve my goal - to weigh at least 45kg, which is the minimum requirement for any blood donor, age aside.  All I did for 2 whole weeks before the actual giving day was EAT, EAT and EAT! I did it like there was no tomorrow. Finally, my dream came true. I managed to pull my weight up to a healthy 46.5kg from 43kg, totally felt like an indignant Rambo! Then came the moment I could shine for the needy, I was ready to pen down in my then-diary that I have officially broken my record....I'm a BLOOD DONOR!!!

I remembered queueing up at Hall 7, with the queue literally gliding like a snake! The helpful nurses and assistants passed us forms to fill up, that which contained such detailed questions I never knew a draw of some ml of blood required. The nurse then sat me down, asked a few questions and pricked either of my third or fourth finger for some blood test (pardon me for the STM).

Next up, my most exhilarating segment - weight measurement!

"Girl, you weigh only 44.5kg. I'm sorry, you cannot donate."

"Huh?!! But I took my weight yesterday and was 46.5!"

"I'm sorry, you're now 44.5..."

"It's just 0.5kg away what~~~~"

I walked away with the heaviest heart ever. The nurse explained to me that even if I was 44.9, they'd say NO as complications might arise for those who weigh below 45kg, such as high probability of anaemia, fainting spells, etc.

OK, at least I walked out with a couple more who were "underweight" as well. That was my only consolation of the day.

Coming back to 24 August 2009 as I type, one thing has changed, albeit not positive. I'm now even lighter, almost featherweight! :(

Here are some visual feeds of this year's BLOOD DONATION DRIVE!

I promise to feed myself relentlessly till I hit 45kg, good for the next round!

Hmmm, it seems like the worry of many is to shed the excess, but the opposite can actually be a cause of worry too. Oh wells.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During my trip to the back-market last Saturday, I wore a pair of flip-flops my Aunt gave me last year. Oh man, it was so formidable it gave me 2 BLISTERS within that 10-minute trip! That was indeed unnecessary and so not worth the short while. Anyways, I’m really praying for the quickest healing on my feet now....so as to resume my HEELSensation asap!

What then do you think RDM stands for?

None other than RANDOM! Realise how often we tend to analyse too much into certain things which turn out nitty-gritty at times? Yes, that’s the complicated BRAIN for you, in this fast-paced society you graduated into.

Take time off to relax if you’ve been staring at this screen for the past few hours.

Take a breather occasionally.

Smile and celebrate the fact you’re alive!

Wanna Burger?

  • Aug. 18th, 2009 at 11:39 AM

Over the past couple of months, Asiaone has seen its food feature SoShiok.com emphasizing the local burger scene.

I've come across 2 burger reports thus far - Morton's of Chicago and Overeasy. You might not have heard or even gotten hands on their burgers but I'm sure they're increasingly appealing among burger fans!

Morton's Million-Dollar Burger hugely outweighed the outlet's steak, in terms of popularity and sellability. Made with 12 oz or 340g of premium beef, it is larger than any quarter-pounder or burger served in your regular fast food outlets. More importantly, it uses USDA Prime beef and the fries served on the side are hand-cut Idaho Potato fries.

Drooling already? There's more to the Burger than mere ingredients.

The background of Morton's I read brought to me some Hansel & Gretel memories, Pinnochio if you like. Not that they have biscuit houses or wooden noses, but these stories instantly came to me! Morton’s of Chicago, globally recognised as a fine-dining steakhouse icon owes it all to this burger that Klaus Fritsch made for Arnie Morton when they both worked for the Playboy Clubs in the early 1970s.

The two, who hadn’t yet gotten to know each other well, happened to be at the Montreal Playboy Club and Fritsch was in the process of creating new menu items for the more than 30 Playboy Clubs in major cities throughout the world.

He was particularly enthusiastic about the new burger he had just prepared, so he had it taken out to Arnie Morton to try.

A few minutes later, Arnie burst into the kitchen, loudly demanding: "Who cooked this hamburger?"

Fritsch recalled: “As I stepped forward to accept responsibility, I wasn’t sure if Arnie was pleased or not...until he said that it was simply the very best burger he’d ever tasted. From that day on, we worked together as colleagues and friends. I left Playboy in 1973 to join Arnie in opening his first restaurant, Arnie’s, in Chicago, and in 1978 we opened our first Morton’s steakhouse, on State Street.”

And because of the success of Morton's, Fritsch has always called the burger,
"The Million-Dollar Burger".

Morton’s USDA Prime Burger, Heineken draft and Santa Helena Siglo d’oro, Cabernet Sauvignon, from Chile’s Colchagua Valley 2008 will be offered at only $25, $11.95 and $15 respectively. Besides these 3 great deals from 8pm to closing daily, the Burger costs $30.

Would you pay $30 for a burger? (:

Overeasy, on the other hand, prices its To Die For Burger at $19.
Cheaper in comparison but I really ain't sure who emerges champion in the burger battle. Perhaps one has to rate it thyself, if reluctant to rely on the following reviews. Last weekend, LifeStyle has asked two burger fans to rate burgers from newly-established outlets in town. Both commented that it's nothing more than a normal burger, with the exception of FRESH ingredients, and THICK and JUICY patty. It is the closest to an all-American burger.

Now that in itself is sufficient to get me drooling...

$19 to sacrifice for a To Die For Burger. Sounds like a good deal eh?

Add Meaning to Life!

  • Aug. 12th, 2009 at 5:42 PM
Do the bird thing

How often do we remember to appreciate those around us?

Parents who painstakingly brought YOU up and loved YOU for who YOU are,
despite the strong character ...

Other family members and relatives who were always there to egg YOU on,
despite some kaypo-ness esp. on CNY ...

Schoolmates who noticed YOU weren't there, took notes for YOU and dropped YOU a message,
despite dao-ing and forgetting them sometimes ...

Colleagues who care for YOU and ensure YOU've had your meal,
despite your wanting to go on a diet ...

Friends who are there for YOU despite your ups or downs,
despite your focused moaning of your magnified situation ...

Realise how much others have done just for the special YOU!

Here's a short Greek film that really touched my heart, I hope it'll touch yours too =)

Philippians 2:2-4

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

STOP today and every day!

  • Aug. 5th, 2009 at 11:25 AM

The Festival of Praise that stretched over 3 full nights last weekend was indeed a phenomenal one! The Word each night was delivered by Rev Mark Conner, and one message that I really liked was Friday's. Nothing too deep or hidden, but it came forth just as a timely switch for me as I tend to worry quite a bit over many collated trivial matters. I guess it's really the power of being overwhelmed, time and again falling back into the why-is-it-happening-to-me or simply why-me mindset!

Never do we realise that the key to unlocking this tangle is something very simple, really.
And that is also why I love Rev Mark as he never fails to COOK palatable DISHES, catered to everyone's line of taste.
So how do we break free from our defiant giant called
WORRY?

  • Specify your worries
    • Listing them down reduces the impact of the worry, especially when it can be visually seen. We tend to frequently overestimate bad/negative emotions.
  • Take action on your worries
    • Turn your worry into a problem and find a solution to it the best way you can think of, besides just harping on it.
  • Offer up a prayer to God
    • Shape your worries into prayers! Don't forget to pray!
  • Place your trust in the Lord
    • Pro 3:5-6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths!

So then, put a
STOP to all your worries and let this giant not get the better of you.

Let's aim to be worry-less children of God!

If you were to make a time capsule today to be opened in 50 years, what would you put in it?

This sounds so much like the movie Knowing, did you watch? A typical setting of school days in the 80s, where all students are given an activity - to write a message (a wish, ambition or something that you want happen in 50 years to come).

Abrakadabra! 50 years pass and the UNBELIEVABLE happens. One student predicted the future with numerological prophecy that got the earth panicking with the "knowing" of all natural disasters slated to take place from that time of reading. Gosh!

Do get it at DVD rental shops as the movie's no longer at a cinema near you. Such shows really set the mind thinking and going outta the box! =)

As for the non-writer in me, definitely without a J.K. Rowling creative mind, I guess I can veer a tad further because my task is to now build a TIME CAPSULE and not just predict with weird numbers right?

I'd wanna put a mobile phone into my time capsule! A special one that travels through time in any condition, whatever connection. Time waits for no one but isn't it gonna be so cool if we'd be able to call the past in the future present?! Would design it to be self-connecting so I can call myself and ask the past-me questions that I can't remember. This is in goodwill to counter any STM symptom of mine that is even trying to manifest at a tender 22 years of age!

And and....I cannot forget to put in my Orange Bird and Care Bears!
They gotta stay alive for the next century!

What about you? What would you put into a time machine to be opened in 50 yrs' time? Hmmm

PS, such questions are asked in Psychology lessons cos we always needa think outta the box! Tough but fun!
